What is the Uswitch Green Accreditation?

The Uswitch Green Accreditation aims to make it easier to choose the green energy tariff that’s right for you.

They assigned each green tariff a Bronze, Silver or Gold level, depending on the amount of renewable energy suppliers directly buy and the level of investment they are making to support the growth of renewable energy.

*This tariff comes with 100% renewable electricity as standard and gas usage is offset through the purchasing of certified emission reduction certificates. We will also plant 5 trees on your behalf through the charity One Tree Planted, supporting a project in the Peru Rainforest. The trees planted can absorb up to 100kg of CO2 from the air.

Electricity backed by 100% renewable sources, E.ON's renewable generation assets, agreements with UK generators and the purchase of renewable electricity certificates. The electricity supplied to your home or business comes from the National Grid and DNOs.

E.ON Next Climate+ is Climate Positive compared to E.ON Next Online v7 tariff.

**We have worked this out by using Ofgem’s average yearly electricity consumption of a medium house (2900kWh) multiplied by the weighted average carbon intensity of the current BEIS published UK residual fuel mix, covering the period between April 2020 - March 2021, published in August 2021 (2900kWh x 0.392334kg CO2/kWh = 1138kg CO2). To calculate the carbon avoided, we then compare this to the 0kg CO2/kWh Carbon intensity for residential customers in E.ON Next who receive electricity backed by REGOs. (2900kWh x 0kgCO2/kWh = 0kg CO2).
