Your heat pump FAQs.
Does E.ON Next provide air source heap pump finance?
We don't currently offer finance, however we will in the near future.
How long does a heat pump installation take?
Heat pump installations can take up to 5 days depending on the complexity of the work required. This is typically dependant on the number of radiator upgrades, pipework alterations and any electrical work.
How do you swap a boiler for a heat pump?
Our professional installers will assess your home’s suitability and then remove the old boiler, install the new heat pump, and connect it to your radiators and your hot water cylinder. We’ll also install any radiator upgrades at the same time.
Will a heat pump heat my water?
Yes, air source heat pumps heat water in a hot water cylinder where it’s stored until you need it. The cylinder is insulated so once the water is heated it'll stay hot for hours, waiting for you to use it for washing up or filling up the bath.
As part of the system design we'll look at your hot water needs and ensure the cylinder is the right size so there's always enough hot water for your home. Typically, hot water is heated to 55°C, which is warm enough for piping hot showers and baths
When do you need to service a heat pump?
You'll need to service your heat pump annually through a qualified heat pump engineer to maintain the manufacturer warranty.
Are air source heat pumps easy to use?
Yes, and we'll set up the system to suit your needs.
Heat pumps work best if they are left on at a low but comfortable setting all day. The system will heat up in the morning so your home is nice and warm when you get up, and heat up again in the evening for your return home. If you want it warmer during the day you can turn it up yourself on the heating controls.
We’ll set up and explain your new system so you’re ready to go as soon as it’s installed.
Can a heat pump work with solar panels and/or battery systems?
Yes, existing solar and/or battery systems can be used to power your heat pump if they are suitably sized.
In most cases, solar and/or battery systems are able to supply some power to the heat pump, but not all, with the remaining power being supplied by the grid. Speak to one of our experts for specific guidance on your system.
