Next Plus terms and conditions.

By choosing to participate in Next Plus, customers agree to the terms and conditions set out below.

1. About Us

We are E.ON Next Energy Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company registration number 03782443. Our registered office is at Westwood Way, Westwood Business Park, Coventry, England, CV4 8LG.

We are your gas and/or electricity supplier under a separate agreement, the terms of which do not have any effect of these Terms.

2. About Our Terms

These terms and conditions (“these Terms”) explain how you may participate in Next Plus (defined below), including the E.ON Next Google Chrome Desktop Extension, called “E.ON Next Rewards” (“the App”) and any of its content.

These Terms apply between E.ON Next (we, us or our) and you, the person accessing or using the App (you or your).

You should read these Terms carefully before activating Next Plus, in particular clause 15 “Our liability”. By activating Next Plus or otherwise indicating your consent, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any of these Terms, you should stop using Next Plus immediately.

3. E.ON Next Loyalty Programme Pilot (“Next Plus”)

Next Plus gives selected E.ON Next customers access to the Rewards (set out in clause 5.1 below).

The App is provided by Kindred Soul Ltd (“Kindred”), a social enterprise founded to use technology to help support conscious consumption and support initiatives to reduce the impact on our planet from our everyday shopping. Users of Kindred’s technology generate funds which are donated to environmental, social and governance initiatives. The App acts as a platform to connect you to various retail brands with which Kindred is in partnership (“the Online Merchants”) and their special offers.


When you make a purchase through the Next Plus scheme we receive commission, the amount will vary depending on the retailer. We will donate 100% of any commission we receive, and Kindred will donate 25% of their commission to fund projects which help reduce carbon emissions. Kindred is a social enterprise and donates at least 51% of its profits to good causes. We and Kindred will decide which charitable institutions to support as the best means of achieving a reduction in carbon emissions.

This is an E.ON Next Loyalty Programme Pilot made available to a randomly selected group of eligible E.ON Next customers, which commences from April 2023 and operates subject to these Terms, and subsists until such time as we may notify you (“the Pilot”). For the avoidance of doubt, E.ON Next reserves the right to withdraw, pause or amend Next Plus at any time.

4. Eligibility and requirements

4.1. To be eligible for Next Plus, you must:

4.1.1. be an E.ON Next customer;

4.1.2. have an E.ON Next online account:

4.1.3. have a valid email address registered on your E.ON Next online account

4.1.4. for Discover and Pioneer Rewards, meet Tier specific Eligibility criteria set out at clause 5.1;

4.1.5. opt in for “Next Plus” on your E.ON Next online account dashboard;

4.1.6. have a Google Chrome Internet browser on your desktop or laptop;

4.1.7. have a broadband Internet connection; and

4.1.8. install the App as set out in clause 6 below.

4.2. We reserve the right to vary, from time to time, the Rewards and Eligibility. We will notify you of any changes to these Terms as soon as possible in accordance with clause 20.

5. Tiers and Rewards (“the Rewards”)

5.1. You will be able to benefit from one of the three rewards based on the Tiers set out in the table below (Explore, Discover and Pioneer). You will have to satisfy all criteria set out in the Eligibility criteria below to receive a Reward:

Tier: “Explore” Eligibility Criteria: Meet the Eligibility criteria in clause 4.1. Reward: Access to discounts, coupons and special offers with the Online Merchants through the App

Tier: “Discover” Eligibility Criteria: Meet the Eligibility criteria in clause 4.1; and have a smart meter; and pay by Direct Debit; and have been an E.ON Next customer for over 1 year

Reward: Access to discounts, coupons and special offers with the Online Merchants through the App; and £20 off Fixed Tariff Renewal (“Money Off Discover”)

Tier: “Pioneer”

Eligibility Criteria: Meet the Eligibility criteria in clause 4.1; and have a smart meter; and pay by Direct Debit; and have been an E.ON Next customer for over 2 consecutive years

Reward: Access to discounts, coupons and special offers with the Online Merchants through the App; and £50 off Fixed Tariff Renewal (“Money Off Pioneer”)

5.2. Money off (Discover and Pioneer)

5.2.1. If you are eligible for Money Off Discover or Money Off Pioneer, you will receive a one- off discount on your renewal, as applicable to the relevant Tier, if you renew your energy tariff with us to a Fixed Tariff. Fixed Tariff means the price you agree to pay us for the supply of gas and/or electricity, which is set for a fixed period as set out in your supply agreement with us.

5.2.2. Discount will be credited to your E.ON Next account 30 days after purchase of a Fixed Tariff.

5.2.3. Money Off Discover and Money Off Pioneer is limited to one discount per Fixed Tariff and no more than one per year from the date of receiving the latest Money Off Discover or Money Off Pioneer. This means that if you choose to cancel your Fixed Tariff before the end of its fixed term, you will not be eligible for any further Money Off as part of the Pilot.

6. How to access and use the App

6.1. To access the App, you must:

6.1.1. install Google Chrome Desktop Extension, known as E.ON Next Rewards on the Google Chrome Web Store;

6.1.2. register an account with Kindred on the App by using the same email address as we hold on your E.ON Next account.

6.2. The App can only be installed and used on desktop and/or laptop. It is not available on mobile devices such as smart phone, tablet or similar mobile devices.

6.3. Once you have registered, anytime you visit a website of an Online Merchant using a Chrome desktop Internet browser on the device on which you installed the App, it will monitor your browsing activity to detect and notify you of the discounts and coupons available to use. You will only be able to access discounts and coupons if you shop online via Chrome desktop browser. The App will not identify, notify you, or apply any discounts and coupons if you use any other Internet browser.

6.4. You can apply your discount or coupon on a single transaction by selecting “Activate Reward” at the time of purchase, or receive automatic discounts every time you shop online with Online Merchants, if you select an “Automatic Deal Activation”. You can deactivate “Automatic Deal Activation” option at any time on the App.

6.5. We will terminate your access to the App if you switch to another energy supplier and stop being an E.ON Next customer.

7. How does it work

7.1. Kindred is our Rewards and donations processing partner. You will enter into a direct relationship with the Online Merchants in relation to any purchase you choose to make, and any matter relating to the fulfilment, payment, returns and refunds of the purchased goods is a matter between you and the Online Merchant.

7.2. Discounts, coupons and special offers which you may have access to by registering on the App are set by the Online Merchants and are outside of our and Kindred’s control.

7.3. Money donation will be made by Kindred automatically and you will be able to track your donations on your E.ON Next online account dashboard at the end of the applicable returns policy period for that transaction (based on the Online Merchant’s terms of sale). This is normally 90 days but may be longer for some merchants.

7.4. We will not provide support for resolving any incomplete or failed transactions which are not tracked and recognised by the Online Merchant as the result of your error, network failures, the failure of Online Merchant systems to correctly process and store App tracking code or other technical failures.

8. Other terms

8.1. We accept no responsibility for your failure to sign up to Next Plus due to a technical fault.

8.2. If we end the Pilot at any given point in time, any Rewards that are due to be gained by you will be subject to E.ON Next’s discretion.

8.3. We will try to make the App as accessible as possible. If you have any difficulties using the App, please contact Kindred on a support link available on the App.

8.4. Access to and use of the App is subject to risks inherent in information technology networks such as computer virus infection, spyware, malicious software, trojans and worms which may be outside of our control. Except in the event of intentional misconduct, negligence or breach of this agreement, we will not be liable for any damage to your systems, data or property resulting from such risks.

8.5. We may prevent or suspend your access to the App if you do not comply with these Terms or any applicable law.

9.1. Registration and password security

9.1. Use of the App may require registration. You are responsible for making sure that your password and any other account details are kept secure and confidential.

9.2. If we have reason to believe there is likely to be a breach of security or misuse of the App through your account or the use of your password, we may notify you and require you to change your password, or we may suspend or terminate your access to the App.

9.3. Any personal information you provide to us as part of the registration process will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy available at

10. Infringing content and Inappropriate use

10.1 We will use reasonable efforts to delete accounts which are being used in an inappropriate manner or in breach of these Terms

10.2. We will remove your access to the App if you:

10.2.1. perform any actions which may impair the operability of the App;

10.2.2. use or attempt to use another user's login details or account or otherwise attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App;

10.2.3. use the App fraudulently (including attempts to make payments by fraudulent means), abusive or otherwise behaves in an inappropriate manner contrary to this clause10and/or clause 6, we may remove you access to the App with immediate effect;

10.2.4. at any other time by giving you written notice (including notice by email to the email address you provide us with).

11. Your privacy and personal information

Your privacy and personal information are important to us. Any personal information that you provide to us will be dealt with in line with our Privacy Policy available at which explains what personal information we collect from you, how and why we collect, store, use and share such information, your rights in relation to your personal information and how to contact us and supervisory authorities in the event you have a query or complaint about the use of your personal information.

12. Ownership, use and intellectual property rights

Nothing in these Terms grants you any legal rights in the App or the content other than as necessary for you to access it. You agree not to adjust, try to circumvent or delete any notices contained on the App or the content (including any intellectual property notices) and in particular, in any digital rights or other security technology embedded or contained within the App or the content.

13. Accuracy of information and availability of the App

13.1. We try to make sure that the App is accurate, up-to-date and free from bugs, but we cannot promise that it will be. Furthermore, we cannot promise that the App will be fit or suitable for any purpose. Any reliance that you may place on the information on the App is at your own risk.

13.2. We may suspend or terminate access or operation of the App at any time as we see fit.

13.3. While we try to make sure that the App is available for your use, we do not promise that the App will be available at all times or that your use of the App will be uninterrupted.

14. Hyperlinks and third party sites

The App may contain hyperlinks or references to third party advertising and websites other than the App. Any such hyperlinks or references are provided for your convenience only. We have no control over third party advertising or websites and accept no legal responsibility for any content, material or information contained in them. The display of any hyperlink and reference to any third party advertising or website does not mean that we endorse that third party’s website, products or services. Your use of a third party site may be governed by the terms and conditions of that third-party site and is at your own risk.

15. Our liability

15.1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, E.ON Next’s liability to customers in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise for any loss, injury or damage of whatever kind caused in whole or in part by participation in Next Plus, or by their failure to perform any of their obligations under these Terms will in no event exceed £1,000.00.

15.2. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for any death or personal injury caused by our negligence, liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

16. Events beyond our control

We will not be liable to you for any delay or failure to perform any obligation under this agreement to the extent that it results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disaster, fire, inevitable accident, terrorism, insurrection, war, pandemic or associated quarantine restrictions, sanctions or similar government restriction or prohibition ("Force Majeure Event"). The following shall not be considered as a Force Majeure Event: delay or failure by any our subcontractors or suppliers except where such delay or failure is itself caused by a Force Majeure Event. In the event of such delay we will use reasonable endeavours to notify you as soon as reasonably practicable if your access to the App will be affected/terminated.

17. No third party rights

No one other than us or you has any right to enforce any of these Terms.

18. Variation

18.1. Subject to clause 18.2, no changes to these Terms are valid or have any effect unless agreed by us in writing or made in accordance with this clause 18.

18.2. We reserve the right to vary these Terms and Rewards from time to time. We will notify you of such changes in accordance with clause 20, you agree to be bound by any variation made by us.

18.3. If you are not happy with any changes made in accordance with clause 18.2, you can withdraw your participation in the Pilot by removing the App from your device and giving us 14 days’ notice. We will terminate your access to the App and you will no longer be able to receive the Rewards.

19. Complaints, governing law and jurisdiction

19.1. If you are unhappy with us, please contact us as soon as possible by .We will try to resolve any complaint or disputes relating to Next Plus with you quickly and efficiently in accordance with our complaints policy. Please refer to for more details.

19.2. The laws of England and Wales apply to these Terms. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

20. Notices

We will notify you of any changes affecting Next Plus, Rewards, these Terms or the Pilot as soon as reasonably practicable before the change(s) become effective by email we hold for you on your E.ON Next online account. If you change your email address during the duration of the Pilot, you must provide your new email address to us as soon as reasonably possible.
