By changing how you charge your electric car to more frequent and smaller charges instead of one big charge, you not only preserve the vehicles battery health, but this means we can make sure we charge at the cheapest times possible, allowing us to give you our cash back offer.

To most people 75% means you're plugging in more often and therefore your electric vehicle will adopt a more frequent and smaller charge pattern.

If your car is plugged in for at least 75% of the time it is at its home location, you will receive £15 each month. The 75% is calculated over the duration of the calendar month - so don't worry if you forget to plug it in a few times.

Examples:

1. If your car is at home for 500 hours per month (on average roughly 16-17 hours per day), you will receive the £15 credit if it is plugged in for 375 hours or more (roughly 12-13 hours per day on average).

2. If your car is at home for 300 hours per month (on average roughly 10 hours per day), you will receive the £15 credit if it is plugged in for 225 hours or more (roughly 7-8 hours per day on average).

The key to this tech is that your preferences (how much charge you want in your car and when you need it ready by) will take priority over anything else.

If your circumstances change, you can change when you need your car ready by or the % at any time and we'll create a new schedule.

If you can't wait and you need energy now, you always have an option to override your schedule and 'Boost' your cars charging.

The price we pay for energy changes throughout the day depending on the availability of electricity. This means electricity is generally cheaper when it's really windy because more energy is available from wind farms and similarly with solar on sunny days.

Our tech looks at these predictions and schedules your charge for when supply is in abundance and avoids periods where customers are using lots of energy.

The location at which you first connect your car to the Next Connect app will be used as the home location.

Don't worry, this isn't a tracker but a simple tool that sends us a notification that tells us whether your car is at home, or away, and whether it is plugged in or not.

While we iron out the creases, your smart in-home display might not be performing at 100%. For the most accurate consumption information and how much your energy costs, your monthly statements or our E.ON Next app will have all the information you need.

Your £15 will be applied to your energy account each month. You'll be able to see this on your statement as 'Next Connect credit'

As you'll more than likely join mid-way through a month, your first part-month is on us whilst you get used to plugging in more regularly.

Credits are applied on the 10th day of each month.

Yes, we need to access the half-hourly meter readings from your smart meter to be able to make sure we charge your electric vehicle at the right time and we bill you correctly.
