Off-peak tariffs offer cheaper electricity at certain times of the day. You may also hear this called Economy 7, which offers cheaper electricity overnight for customers who need it. Customers on off-peak tariffs will also have a different meter type, for example an Economy 7 meter.

You can renew your off-peak tariff online and we’ll give you a breakdown for the day and night rate, showing you the different price for each.

If you want to switch from an off-peak tariff to paying a single rate for your electricity, then you’ll need to get in touch with us. You can still keep your Economy 7 meter if you’re switching from off-peak electricity.

If you sign up to a fixed tariff then you’re fixing the price you pay for each unit of energy you use. Normally fixed tariffs are for 1 or 2 years and if you leave them early you may need to pay an exit fee.

For variable tariffs, the price of each unit will change each 6 months. So if you’re a dual fuel customer then you could see the price of both your electricity and gas increase or decrease. However variable tariffs have no term limit, so you can switch suppliers or move to a fixed dual fuel tariff at any time.

Sometimes your electricity and gas may be on different tariffs, with different end dates. When we send you your renewal communications we'll only talk about the energy tariff which is due to renew in the next 45 days.

If you decide to renew with E.ON Next through your online account, we'll always give you a quote for both electricity and gas together as this is where you'll make the most savings. If you choose to switch, your electricity and gas tariffs will then be aligned to the same end date.

We update prices in line with changes in the energy market so occasionally we might launch a new version of a single or dual fuel tariff between your renewal communications being sent and you coming to our website.

The energy prices we quote online will always be the cheapest based on what we’re currently selling, so you won’t get any different energy deals by calling us.
