The cost of your solar panels.
The starting price for a 6-panel system with on-roof solar panels is just £4,995, and a 12-panel (5.70 kWp) system starts from only £6,495.
Solar panels allow you to generate your own electricity using the sun's energy, potentially saving you up to £824 per year on your energy bills. By selling your exported electricity, you could even earn an additional £412 while reducing the carbon footprint of your home.
The overall system price can vary based on things like: the number of panels chosen, what size battery you add, how much scaffolding is required, if you choose panel optimisers to maximise generation performance.

Exclusive tariff for E.ON solar customers.
As an energy supplier, we offer solar panel customers exclusive Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) tariffs, ensuring you're rewarded for the energy you export back to the grid.
How much could I save with solar panels?
Utilising the power of the Sun is not only energy-efficient but also a cost-saving solution for generating electricity in your home.
The potential savings are based on an annual usage of 4,000 kWh (kilowatt hours) and an electricity price of 27.69p/kWh, assuming a south-facing roof (35° pitch and no shade). These savings include the expected returns from 6 to 16 solar panels, along with SEG payments based on 475W rated solar panels.

Figures are based on standard MCS calculations for a south-facing 12-panel solar array in central England, on a 35-degree tilt roof, with no shading, and annual electricity usage of 4,000 kWh. The tariff rate is 27.69p/kWh (Ofgem Energy price cap from 1 January 2026). Savings assume a 5.3 kWh battery (usable capacity 4.8 kWh) and Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) payments of 17.5p/kWh under E.ON Next Premium v3. Actual savings may vary.
