These are a set of new energy tariffs tailored to new homes with renewable energy technology already in place. They're designed to complement installed assets such as solar panels, batteries,heat pumps and EV chargers, to provide the new home owner/occupier with an affordable, fixed monthly bill.

Yes, this is an E.ON Next tariff. If your new home is eligible, you can sign up to a Next Home Confidence tariff when you move in, whether or not you’re an existing customer. 

If you choose Next Home Confidence, you'll receive a welcome pack containing everything you need to know to get started.

Lower Bills Built In is what we call our partnership with developers to install renewable energy tech, like solar panels, batteries, and heat pumps, in new homes. Coupled with these future-ready solutions, our Next Home Confidence tariffs provide affordable, fixed monthly electricity bills for the people who buy or occupy eligible new homes.

Not necessarily. Your home will need to meet specific requirements to be eligible. Your new home will be eligible whenever the required energy solutions (solar panels, battery etc.) have been installed, and if your home is located on a site developed by one of our partners.

We're currently working with several developers across a number of sites, and this list will be updated periodically.

As well as those already listed, you’ll need to have a working smart meter, a reliable internet connection, and agree to us collecting data every half hour. You’ll also need to use the Home Energy Management System provided by us, and agree to become one of our tariff innovators! The Next Home Confidence tariff is a new and evolving beta product. This means things may look and behave a little differently as we continue to make it the best it can be.

With the changes in the Future Homes Standards, developers are building more new homes with renewable energy tech. We understand that the costs of living are increasing and regular monthly payments for a mortgage or rent and utilities are the largest outgoings for most people. 

We want to help customers moving into these new homes make the most of the renewable energy tech to provide an affordable, fixed, monthly electricity cost.

The Next Home Confidence tariffs are fixed for 12 months. This means the price you agree won't change for 12 months unless you exceed the Fair Usage Limit or decide you want to change tariffs. Towards the end of the 12 month period we'll write to you with your renewal options including any current version of the Next Home Confidence tariff.

Our Fair Usage Policy allows us to provide a fixed monthly payment for electricity that’s as low as possible, by calculating how much energy you might consume according to what we consider to be fair usage. When you sign up for a Next Home Confidence tariff, you agree to pay for any additional energy usage beyond the Fair Usage Limit.

As the Next Home Confidence tariffs are new for customers, we’ve set the Fair Usage Limit at a high level of 10,000 kWh per month for the first 12 months. In return, we ask that you use energy responsibly and minimise your carbon emissions where possible.

If the limit is exceeded, any additional energy will be charged at the Next Smart Saver tariff rates. You can keep an eye on your energy usage within our app. We'll notify you if you're approaching your Fair Usage Limit, and we recommend you then get in touch with us.

From the date you own the house, you’ll own and be responsible for maintaining any installed energy solutions, such as the solar panels, battery system, heat pump, or EV charger. 

Your solar panels, battery system and EV charger will need very little maintenance. Simply keep the area around the devices clear and ventilated by removing any build up of things like leaves. Heavy rain will typically clean your solar panels, but if they get really dirty then we recommend you find a professional panel-cleaning company. 

If you have a heat pump, it is likely to need an annual service to maintain the manufacturer’s warranty, please refer to the guidance from the manufacturer. 

All of your solutions will come with a manufacturer's warranty, the details of which should be provided to you when you move in. 

Yes. To be able to provide you with a low monthly payment, we need to be able to optimise your renewable assets. The HEMS helps us to do this. If you choose to not use the HEMS, we'll need to move you to an alternative tariff.

The Next Home Confidence tariffs are a blended import/export tariff. This means we make sure you have the energy you need and sell any excess energy when it's needed by the grid. 

Selling the excess electricity back to the grid is one of the ways we’re able to offer you a low fixed monthly payment with Next Home Confidence. 

As a result, we can't offer you the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) export tariff that you would require to get paid for excess energy generated. If you'd prefer to be on a SEG export tariff, you’ll need to move to an alternative energy import tariff.

Yes. Next Home Confidence will cover the electricity usage in your new home. If you have a gas boiler for your heating and hot water, you'll be on the Power Only version of the Next Home Confidence tariffs and have a separate gas tariff for your heating and hot water supply. This will be a 12-month gas tariff with a daily standing charge and unit rate. Your gas usage will show as a separate item on your monthly bill and will be charged based on the amount of gas that you use.

No, there are no exit fees with our Home Confidence tariffs. You can switch at any time.

Even if your new home is eligible for the Next Home Confidence tariff, you can still choose the best tariff for you.
