Here's a list of battery inverters that are currently eligible. As some manufacturers have multiple models and configurations, eligibility may vary by specific model. We'll confirm whether your battery inverter is eligible as part of the quoting process.

• Fronius: Primo, Primo GEN24, Symo, Symo Advanced, Symo GEN24 ranges
• Sungrow: SH (including SH3.6RS to SH30TA), SH-RL, SH-CX (including SH50CX, SH80CX and SH125CX) ranges
• Hoymiles: HYS LV, HYT HV, HiOne G3 S and T, HIS G3/G3S, HIT G3/G3S, HAT HV, HAS LV ranges

Your battery inverter must also run the latest available firmware to connect to Next Solar Storage Steady. Please make sure your battery inverter is running the latest manufacturer firmware before connecting in the E.ON Next Home app. You can normally do this from within your manufacturer's app or online management portal.

We're continuously working to expand the range of compatible battery inverters and bring more manufacturers on board. We'll keep this list updated as new manufacturers and battery inverters become eligible.

If you already have an SEG tariff with E.ON Next, we should be able to get you set up in as little as 5 days. If you're new to E.ON Next or to SEG, the process may take a few weeks. As part of the onboarding process, we'll give you clear information about what to expect, including the timeframe for getting set up.

Next Solar Storage Steady is a 12-month contract, but there are no exit fees if you decide to leave before the end of your term. If you leave within your 12-month term, we'll move your electricity supply to Next Flex until you choose another tariff.

Next Solar Storage Steady is a Time of Use tariff that combines both import and export into a single product:

Automatic offsetting: Your export earnings directly offset your import charges on a single bill.

Replaces SEG: Your current SEG payments will stop once you move over, as you can't receive separate SEG credits at the same time.

Next Solar Storage Steady is designed to make your battery work harder for you. Rather than simply paying you for the electricity you export, it combines three fixed export rates with three import rates. Your battery is automatically steered across the day to make the most of the different rates, results may vary depending on your specific energy usage, battery capacity and setup, you'll receive a single bill combining your import and export payments.

Next Solar Storage Steady can give you more flexibility than a standard import tariff. You get three fixed import rates throughout the day alongside three export rates. Your compatible battery inverter will be automatically steered to help make the most of these prices, for example by charging at cheaper times or exporting at more expensive times. Results may vary based on your specific energy usage and battery capacity. You could also save by shifting some of your electricity use to lower-priced time periods rather than using energy during peak times.

As well as the underlying wholesale value of electricity in the market, there are different third-party costs associated with using the national grid. These costs are added by the System Operator to both imported and exported electricity.

Third-party costs are higher for imported electricity than for exported electricity. This means the rate you pay to import energy is generally higher than the rate you receive for exporting energy to the grid at any given time.

These costs can also vary depending on your location, the season and the time of day, so the difference between import and export rates may change over time.

If your ability to export is limited, it'll reduce the income available from exporting electricity. However, you may still be able to save money by charging your battery overnight. You can contact your Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to see if they can remove the export limitation, though you'll likely need to make a new G99 application for your solar and battery system.

You'll need the E.ON Next Home app to connect your solar battery inverter and enable optimisation.

You can also use the main E.ON Next app to view your monthly bills. If you have your gas account with us, you can use this app to view your gas tariff, usage and bills as well.

If you already use either app, simply log in with your existing details. Please make sure you have the latest version installed to access all features.

If you haven't previously set up an E.ON Next online account, you'll need to create one using the same email address registered to your main energy account so we can link your tariff.

If the E.ON Next Home app stops working, your battery optimisation will continue as normal because the app simply gives you visibility of what your system is doing.

However, if your home internet connection goes down, we'll temporarily lose communication with your battery inverter. This means the system will fall back to your existing inverter settings, such as self-consumption mode, until the connection is restored.

Yes. You need to download the E.ON Next Home app and connect your battery within your first 30 days on the tariff. If you don't, you'll no longer be eligible for Next Solar Storage Steady and we may move you to another tariff. For import, you'll move to Next Flex, and for export, you'll move to the eligible SEG tariff.

Your battery is automatically steered as part of Next Solar Storage Steady, so you can't manually override the optimisation feature within the E.ON Next Home app. If you need to override the optimisation feature, please contact our operational team on 0808 501 5200.

Yes, but Next Solar Storage Steady doesn't include smart scheduling for your electric vehicle at launch. If your electric vehicle or charger remains connected to the E.ON Next Home app, any existing scheduling settings may continue to operate. This could mean your vehicle charges at times that aren't the cheapest available under Next Solar Storage Steady.

To schedule when your vehicle charges, you can use the manufacturer’s app for your electric vehicle or charger. You can also consider scheduling your charging within Next Solar Storage Steady's different rate windows to make the most of cheaper electricity rates, including the lower overnight import rate.
