Smart Meter Customer Video Campaign Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your participation in the Smart Meter Customer Video campaign (the "campaign") organised by E.ON Next ("We," "Us," or "Our"). By agreeing to participate, you agree to be bound by these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations. These terms and conditions will cover the time period between 1 October 2023 - 31 December 2023.  Please read these Terms carefully.

Eligibility Criteria:

Participant Eligibility: To be eligible to participate, you must be a current credit customer of E.ON Next and have had a working smart meter installed at your residence or business premises within the last 6 - 24 months. 

Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 18 years of age or the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is greater, at the time of entry.

Residency: This campaign is only available to residents of the UK.

Screening Process: All participants must undergo a screening process to determine their suitability. This process includes the following:

- Can relate a positive experience with smart meter installation and usage.

- A propensity to recommend smart meter to friends and family.

- No smart meter open complaint.

- Compliance on voluntary background checks.

- Ensuring compliance with these terms and conditions.

- Location between Birmingham and London.

- Must be located within a 100 mile radius of other participants, to ensure ease of travel for camera crew.

- Must be available during weekdays for filming in November Availability.

Acceptance of Screening Outcome: Participants acknowledge that not all applicants will be selected to participate in the campaign video. Five households or businesses will be selected to participate in filming. Selection is at the sole discretion of E.ON Next. Any decision made in this regard is final and binding.

Use of Participant Content:

By agreeing to participate in the Smart Meter Customer Video Campaign, you hereby grant E.ON Next a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and modify the content you provide, including but not limited to videos, testimonials, photographs, and any related materials (collectively, the "Content"). This licence allows us to use the Content in any or all future campaigns, marketing materials, promotional activities, and any other media, including but not limited to our website, social media channels, print materials, and advertisements, without further compensation to you.

Participation Reward: 

The award is an account credit based on your actual consumption paid regularly over 12 months or until you reach your annual prize limit which is £2000.

The value of the prize is based on the OFGEM energy price cap as of 1 October 2023. For more information on the average usage and energy price cap please go to There is no cash alternative to the reward stated. If you have multiple businesses, this award will only be applicable for one business of your choice. The same terms as above will apply. 

At the end of the 12 month reward period or if your consumption exceeds the total value of the reward before the end of the 12 month period, you will be responsible for paying for your ongoing usage in line with the terms and conditions of your energy account including adjusting your monthly payments so that you do not fall into arrears. If you decide to leave E.ON Next in the 12 month prize period, no prize amounts unpaid will be credited to your final bill and you waive your rights to collect any remaining amounts.

By participating in the campaign, you agree to accept the reward as described and will not seek any additional compensation or substitute rewards.


The winners agree to participate in any reasonable publicity associated with the campaign activities and by participating you agree to E.ON Next using your energy saving tips in future marketing material (social media, website, email).
